While we may be finishing off the hot summer months, there are still plenty of fish out there, and going into fall, you'll want to start planning your fishing trips. Sometimes it can be challenging to fish in the summer with the heavy boat traffic and hot temperatures, but if you keep these conditions in mind, you may actually be able to plan a really awesome fishing trip. In fact, this month is a great month to try different fishing techniques like deep worm and night bite You can still catch some fish in brush piles during the day with a jig, or even deep diving crank bait.

Fishing this month can be dependent on the weather conditions, but with a little planning, and some good fortune from Mother Nature, you should be able to get some really great bites!

While we have many species of fish swimming through our lake, you can't go wrong when trying to catch a catfish! In fact, when it comes to catfish, we have one of the best fisheries in the country. You can get many types of catfish from the flathead to the channel catfish, but nothing beats the blue catfish. This species can get HUGE, and August is a great time to start trying for them.

7 Tips to Fuel Your Boat Safely

We have one of the only 24 hour gas docks at the Lake of the Ozarks , and we are so glad to serve you while on your fun Lake adventure! Our dock is fully serviced with with food, drinks and tube rentals. Before you enjoy your weekend on the water, here are a few safety tips to remember when filling your gas tank! 1. No matter where you are refueling, always clear the area of people who are not directly involved with fueling the boat. 2. Put out all smoking materials and extinguish all open flames. 3.  Be sure to secure your boat to the dock, and turn off the engine and all electronics. 4. Keep the nozzle in contact with the edge of the fill to prevent build up of static electricity to prevent sparking. 5. Do not top off your tank. Know how much fuel your tank holds and fill it to about 90%, since fuel expands as temperatures rise. 6. Clean up fuel spills immediately with an oil-only absorbent pad.
