AquaPalooza at the Lake of the Ozarks

It’s time to start planning your weekend on the water because it’s really only a few short work days away! At Village Marina, we know how important it is to enjoy your watercraft every chance you get, and while you may take it out fishing in the evenings, we have some great events lined up this weekend that will make it even easier to get the boat gassed up and ready for a ride. Aquapalooza is this weekend, and we know you want to get out there and enjoy it!

About Aquapalooza

This event is one of the Lake’s largest family friendly events, and it’s all about boating! All boaters are invited to attend, and you won’t want to miss the fun line-up of bands and entertainment. This event is held on July 15th, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. With live music and activities, you’ll be having fun all day long. On the water party at Dog Days Restaurant happens at the 19 MM just west of the Grand Glaize Bridge.

About the Artist’s for Aquapalooza 2017

Scott Duncan

Scott Duncan is one of the most accomplished and skilled musicians in the Kansas City area. With his unique approach to popular music presentation, he has been entertaining very appreciative audiences for many years in venues across the country, from Florida Gulf Coast resorts to downtown Chicago, to California's Napa Valley wineries. Combining polished guitar playing with his powerful vocals, he elicits very positive responses from all listeners through his one-of-a-kind blend of pop, country, folk, and other styles. Every song he plays is guaranteed to be an easily recognizable radio hit from the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s, and all songs are performed as accurate, dead-on representations of the original records. Additionally, Scott’s voice has an uncanny ability to change characteristics from one song to the next, evoking the sound and feel of the original vocalists. Performing the arrangements and vocals in this manner creates a huge appreciation from the audience members, as they are gratified to hear their favorite hits (in their words) “the way we remember them, the way they’re SUPPOSED to be done!”.


The Mixtapes

The Mixtapes is a ’90s-alternative cover band serving the greater Springfield area. They play the best of yesterday's radio hits today: tunes from the likes of The Cranberries, Beck, Nirvana, No Doubt, Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Third Eye Blind, and more. They’re going to be a perfect fit for a day out on the water!


Chris Weaver Band

Born in West Virginia, Chris Weaver grew up in a music inspired household which helped shape his unique sound and style. Chris’ father played in bands and helped introduce Chris to influences ranging from Tom Petty and Bob Seger to John Mellencamp and Joe Cocker. “I wanted to write like them and sing like them but just do it in a way that would be my own,” says Chris. “It’s all I ever remember wanting to do.” After short stints in politics and radio, Chris moved to Nashville and “played every place that sold chicken” to get his start. Mixing southern rock, soul, and country blues, Chris, and his band are inspiring crowds all around the world on the heels of releasing their sophomore CD, American Dreamer. Attending a Chris Weaver performance is a spiritual experience you don’t want to miss!

The Elton John Experience

Dennis Laffoon is a keyboard prodigy and regional celebrity, along with a national recording artist from Shooting Star. He's now combining his extraordinary talents with the mega talented musicians of Saucy Productions to bring YOU and incredible tribute "Dennis Laffoon's ELTON JOHN EXPERIENCE", featuring Kiki Dee and the Rocket Band. This is a full-on tribute! Along with so many of the world's greatest songs, it also includes the outrageous costumes, exciting stage show, special effects, with a band that ELTON JOHN himself would be proud of.
